HOW DID YOU COME TO CREATE KAY WALKER ORIGINALS?
Kay: Adelle talked me into it. She is my biggest fan. She felt strongly about taking my painting further.
Adelle: Mom painting for Christmas makes us all so happy. And I made sure we saved our original paintings from the start, knowing they'd be meant for more.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO YOUR DECISION TO GIVE BACK TO ALS ONE?
Kay: The desire to give to ALS ONE is the reason we created Kay Walker Originals, as a fundraiser for our friend and founder of ALS ONE, Kevin Gosnell who was amused by my painting and encouraged me to take it further. So it just seemed like a natural fit.
Adelle: When ALS One was created, it was a no brainer. I'm all about giving back.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR YOUR SECOND YEAR OF FUNDRAISING?
Kay: We will raise as much money as we can and have fun!! On Christmas morning last year, our family was very grateful for what we accomplished together, giving to such a needed cause in honor of his memory.
Adelle: To have fun, do the best we can to extend our reach and create more awareness for ALS ONE.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NEW DESIGN FOR 2017?
Kay: Well they are all my favorites, but I think the most intriguing thing we accomplished this year is the Heaven’s Angels pattern. We took the ALS Angel art and turned it into a paisley print. I love how it came together. The colors are rich and creamy. And the gift wrap turned out so fabulous. Adelle also found a site that has made us cashmere/silk scarves.
Adelle: I love this years' color pallet. Not to mention the new designs with embroidered trim from the stockings.
